MTV Remote Control publisher: Hi Tech Expressions programmer: Hi Tech Expressions(?) release: 1990 players: 1 graphics: 5 sound: 6 play control: 9 replay value: 8 This is based on the old late 80's MTV game show. Remember MTV in the 80's? A lot of rock and metal videos? Good game- show? No gangsta rap? Anyway, this game challenges you on your knowledge of TV, music, sports, and whatever else they wanna ask. Each round had 9 categories, based on any of the available genres and topics involved. What realy makes this game though? First, the colors are so much better than the pastels used by the PC version. Imagine, an NES cart that makes the PC version look like s***. Second is the amount of questions they packed onto the cart. Most game show-based carts have maybe 50 questions packed on. This has over 100 by my count. At the end of round 1, one opponent is kicked out in a funny, evil way. Round 2 leads to more points and the inevitable lightning round, where speed and knowledge are the only way to win. The announcer makes comments at everyone, either on the fact they answered a TV question, or getting an easy one wrong. One final note- the Remote Controller by Acclaim has nothing to do with this game. The Remote Controller is a cordless NES control pad, not a special controller that the game came with. final rating: a rarity to grab up
