Submitted to the NEScene (http://surf.to/~nescene) by Mr. Clean (Geosponge@aol.com) __________________________________________________________________ Company: Wisdom Tree Programmer: Vante K., Jim T., and Charles J. Release: ©1992 Graphics: 5 Sound: 7 Play Control: 9 Replay value: 10 This is probably the best unlicenced game. it is very similar to Zelda 1. Adam Lamontagne describes it as "Link goes to Church". I describe it as, incredibly fun. First off, this is a long game, it took be about a week to beat (luckily there is a password option). Even though it is similar to Zelda, I don't feel that it is copying it. Here are the similarities: In Zelda, you get a sword to kill badies. In SW, you get fruit to convert souls (if that is too corny for you, just pretend you're killing them because they do dissapear). In Zelda, you get bombs to blow stuff away. In SW, you get vials of God's wrath where you can basically, blow stuff away. In Zelda you get a boomerang to retreive stuff and stun enemies. In SW you get Sampson's jawbone, an item that is used to retreive things. As you can see, the similarities are there, but I still think it is a very original game. If you are like me, you are probably all confused about the whole fruit thing, I know I was. What you do, Is either find or "buy" (I'll explain the whole currency thing later in the review) fruit from God's helpers or whatever they are. There are five different fruits you get. The pear, which is the worst one because it only goes about 1/3 across the screen and stops when it hits anything. The apple, which has a slow speed but goes through enemies and solid things. The pomegranate, which goes through stuff and travels in a zig zag pattern. The grapes, which goes fast, and travels in a spraying pattern. Last but not last the banana, which has a very fast speed, goes the whole screen, and goes through solid objects. About the currency. As we all know, money is the root to all evil, so this game goes buy SP (spell points), which you collect and you can buy stuff. There are also heart containers (which are like heart containers in Zelda). There is anointing oil (which is like blue potion in Zelda), there are keys (which are like keys in Zelda). There are torches which light up some rooms. Basically, what you have to do is collect the seven peices of the armor of God, and then fight the ultimate source of evil (which is satan even though they never say satan). Final Rating: 9, definatly buy, it is like a Zelda 3 for NES.
